The Genelec 1037C is a three-way active monitoring system including loudspeaker drivers, speaker enclosure, multiple power amplifiers and active, low signal level crossovers. The unique Directivity Control Waveguide™ (DCW™) Technology used provides excellent stereo imaging and frequency balance even in difficult acoustic environments.
In Spain, our team will be using Genelec's 1073C to run impulse responses in each church we record in along the Camino. The loudspeaker will send out a signal for 30 seconds, starting at 20 Hertz and running all the way up to 20,000 Hertz. That signal will bounce off the walls of the church and come back to be absorbed by our microphone array. We will use the information collected to create a 3-dimensional sound map of the acoustic space, enabling us to recreate that sonic space for audiences in the future.
"Genelec signing on as one of our partners was a huge step forward for our project. Their monitors can be found in nearly every recording studio in the world, and knowing that we have an industry standard speaker to run our impulse response sweeps gives me confidence that we will capture the most accurate response from every hall." - Kyle Pyke, Recording Engineer
